hello!
I'm Danielle, a creative and brand director with a passion for travel, an eye for design & curation, a flair for capturing stories from behind the lens, and a love of cocktails. I believe in the power of a great playlist, and the promise of positive energy when glasses clink together in celebration. I'm on a mission to use my creative powers to bring good vibes across the globe.

What does creative education, a techy dino, travel nursing, gifting, a retail giant, artful pies, and the spaces we call home have in common?
These are a few of the brands I've been working with lately. Keep scrolling for a sample and if you're interested in more photography work, please head over to DanielleMotif
CreativeLive’s brand is grounded in the idea that we are all creative. As the brand lead I wrote and produced this video as part of the evolution of our brand expression. The imperfection of the creative process and the energy of creativity itself is highlighted through glitchy motion and rapid editorial style. In my six years at CreativeLive I drove the brand, directed photography, produced content, and lead the creative team. For more highlights from my work at CreativeLive, click below.

Lauren Ko of @Lokokitchen creates stunning pies and pairs them with fantastic puns. She recently launched her first book Pieometry and Anthropologie tapped me to capture Lauren in action with some of their products for their blog and social. It was such a treat, no pun intended (or is there?) to get to photograph her at work on some of her beautifully baked designs. I was also lucky enough to photograph Lauren's author photo for her book and spend some lovely time documenting her process. For more mouthwatering photos. Check out the gallery.

Mozilla has been fighting for an open and accessible internet for over 25 years. At a time when the tech industry is losing sight of what's in the best interest of humanity, it's clear people need trusted product choices and policies that shape our future for the better. The Mozilla rebrand was done to reignite that intention and show the world that there is a path forward, and that path is so much bigger and expansive than just adding Firefox as your browser (which by the way, you should really consider doing!)

If you're ever lucky enough to find yourself in sunny Santa Barbara, California (first of all, jelly), do yourself a favor and pop into family run, green-certified and women-owned small business Santa Barbara Company I worked with them to create a cohesive brand & content marketing strategy anchored with elevated product and brand photography. It's a gem of a business offering gifting though the comforts of home with a heavy pour of California's amazing bounty. Yes, they DO ship nationwide btw.

At CreativeLive we needed a consistent way to to showcase instructors, employees, and students across locations and environments. I crafted an elevated way to capture branded portraits that could be repeatable and executable by a variety of photographers. We developed a structure for the sessions to make them low impact, quick, and most of all fun for the subjects, so we could show off a bit of their personality all the while creating ownable assets for CreativeLive to highlight the amazing community both in front of and behind the scenes.

At CreativeLive we celebrated the creative process in all its messy imperfect ways. I led brand re-positioning with leadership to create an authentic brand identity that mirrored the creative process and captured the spirit of our students, employees, and instructors. We created a new mission, vision, value proposition, brand attributes, visual identity, and voice and tone.

At Trusted Health, I oversaw creative and brand. We embarked on a brand refresh to evolve the brand and address fragmentation and accessibility issues. We launched the refresh with a campaign for Nurses Week, we created new interactive brand guidelines, and implemented a new digital asset management system.
The refresh involved a fresh color palette, new fonts, new iconography, curated photo direction, and updated voice and tone. In addition, we did a mini-style guide for Trusted’s B2B product, Works, to bring some much-needed clarity around the identity. To see how I curated free stock to fill in the gaps for marketing check out the curated set.

At Blanton Turner, I ran a creative and marketing team responsible for 70+ residential and commercial brands across the Pacific Northwest. I led our branding efforts and created and refreshed over a dozen brand identities in 18 months. Over these projects I did everything from naming, to positioning, to directing creative for the brand design and overseeing copy, and photography. We also launched a refreshed Blanton Turner website focusing on a people-first approach to property management complete with a new manifesto. Here are some of the brands in action:

kimber elements is a Seattle-based jewelry design shop launching a new effort to bring more awareness and energy towards social impact. They’ve partnered with indigenous women in Kenya to co-design and produce a line of fair trade jewelry to provide economic independence, business skills and scholarships to young women who are interested in studying wildlife conservation. We did a photo shoot for the brand launch and look book.

Lake Washington is the second largest natural lake in the State of Washington. At its longest, it stretches 22 miles. The folks over at Como opened their restaurant over at Carillon Point in Kirkland with all that goodness in mind when they paired their new waterfront patio-drenched eatery with their very own classic boat. Brilliant with a capital B. Did I mention you can reserve the boat for a private pick up and ride to your dinner?

If you know me you know that I’ve got a lot of passions and interests but at the highest level, it’s all about experiences for me. One of the biggest and most dear to me is the concept of coming together over a beautiful meal with awesome people in an amazing space to share ideas. It connects us through the ages to the earliest of times people gathered by the fire to cook and tell stories. Gather Seattle provided countless opportunities for us to do just that. I'm so lucky I that I was able to document so many of our special connections and experiences.

Everyone has their social faves. While it’s unlikely you’ll find me dancing on TikTok, you’ll find me ignoring algorithms & looking for creative and inspiring people on the internet. My only ask? Use your powers for good on the webs. Pass. It. On.
